RedRoute On-The-Road! Walking Tour of Kensington, October 2011
The prospect of mid-morning tea on the roof garden of the former Derry & Toms only added to the enjoyment of a day full of fascinating facts and architecture! The tea did not materialise but facts by the dozen did! Those lovely wrought-iron balcony railings which curve outwards, well they were intended to not crush the full skirts of ladies leaning over to admire the view. We finished at Kensington Palace and were ‘rewarded’ with afternoon tea in the Orangery.
